My name is Mr. Steven Defendini and I have had the fortune of teaching at North Bergen High School for the past ten years. During my tenure here at NBHS, I have taught a wide variety of classes and had am currently the head of the 3-dimensional classes. The focus of my classes is to help students become skilled problem solvers. We accomplish this through the lens of the arts and creativity. 
 
In collaboration with my students, we have achieved recognized success for our projects. We have been featured in The New York Times, CNN, ABC 7, Pix 11, FOX Business, The BBC, BuzzFeed, Adam Savages TETSTED, SyFy Comic Con, Etc. Most Recently we were featured on a segment for GOOD MORNING AMERICA for our work on an environmentally conscious dress that was selected as a finalist for the intentional competition, JUNK KOUTURE,
 
Outside of teaching, I am a practicing professional in my craft. I bring those professional experiences back to the classroom to help students understand the application of this field of study.

Inside Adam Savage's Cave: High School Alien Play Spacesuit!

Adam unveils the newest spacesuit being added to his collection: the Dallas spacesuit made for the North Bergen High School stage production of Alien! Adam could not be more thrilled to unbox this costume, getting a close look at the ingenuity and creativity in materials and build techniques used to make this recreation.
