Steven definition I am a teacher at North Bergen High School and I teach basic drawing craft digital one digital to also be art director my teaching philosophy is simple and it has its roots in NASA of all places your organization has a program called in situ resource utilization which is just a fancy way of saying use anything available to self unimaginable problems I follow that same method in my class and always ask my students to think outside of the box my students are beginner so the standard for this class is never how well someone can draw and build naturally but how hard they try in class all you have to do is show up on time get the work done and let me know if there's any issues I will always make accommodations for students going to be a place where students can see the world through A New Perspective senior place where students go on to think beyond the stars and towards a new frontier by three classes of broken down fairly Simply Basic drawing is exactly what the title implies will be drawing most basic of things and everything is done in a way that students follow the steps abcnt to accomplish the drawing so you do not need to know how to draw my car so you need to do is a carpet store rest of the class when we learn how to build Innovative League every year we decide on projects and we set out to accomplish them sometimes it takes a month sometimes it takes 6 months last year are classes if they would like to tackle and Hardware products so we don't Iron Man helmets took 6 months in the kids learn how to use everything from plaster to adhesive Construction media digital media to of course is devoted and specifically to program such as Photoshop InDesign and illustrator and in these class of students will learn how to use these programs to develop everything from movie posters sneaker design and illustration work throughout the year my classroom develops into a place where makers of all kinds can come to develop their skills as I do my best to guide them through the rigors of creating a visual identity I know not all students will leave this class knowing how to draw or build if I can teach a student to transfer those skills so that one day they can patch up a wall using plaster that they weren't in class or at the front with the drawing project in college because of their knowledge and then my job is done turn off this video on using my students are only learning new skills but enjoying themselves in the process so many of my students have gone on to Fields And Engineering creator design video game concept art and now more than ever we need to teach our students to be makers and future thinkers to Build a Better World for us thank you for taking the time to watch this video please feel free to email me any questions comments or concerns
