welcome to public speaking in my class I focus on getting your child comfortable speaking in front of an audience we do this by participating in spontaneous speaking assignments and scripted speeches in addition we practice and try to incorporate techniques for successfully completing a speech I always tell my students that public speaking is the number one phobia eating out the fear desk I left my students know that it's not unnatural to feel nervous or fearful speaking it is something that you can overcome Sue practice and planning understand students will be a different Comfort levels with speaking and I try to come to all students and give them the time there and help they need to feel more confident with their speechcraft motivation is recovering classroom code formal prepared speeches informal impromptu speeches acting debating and preparing and presenting yourself effectively for job interviews teaching our usual greeting scheme is still in effect account for 20% of the grade test quizzes projects for about 40% of grade class participation for about 20% in class trip for about 20% as well usually tell my kids that you know why we normally have anywhere from three to four big speech assignments that we do each marking. And that sounds for about 40% your grades I was told my kids at these big projects done this is such a big part of your grade and I do give them appropriate as well to finish those assignments also all students as you probably know are all working through Google classroom please make sure that your students invite you to their parents to view their Simon's what they can do as they can go on to this time right here where their name is and they can't respond to their parents I will send you an invitation email as well so that way you can see your assignments look at their grade classroom thank you for all watching the video and I look forward to teaching your child this year so if you need reach out to me please refer to my office hours or feel free to email me thank you
