Sports and Entertainment Marketing

Sports and Entertainment Marketing is an advanced marketing course designed to provide the foundation in the Sports and Entertainment Industries. The course provides awareness to  students who have an interest in furthering their education or seeking employment in the Sports or Entertainment fields. Areas to be covered include: Core Standards of Marketing, Sports Marketing, Entertainment Marketing, Marketing Mix, Target Marketing, Economics of Professional Sports Teams and Collegiate Sports, Economics of Movies and Television, Marketing Plans.
 
The class is on Chapter 5 of the textbook - Marketing Information Management. Students learn about marketing information systems, marketing research, internal and external databases and different types of data. The students will also learn about the different types of research and the steps to perform a research project.
